"If we want children to flourish, to become truly empowered, let us allow them to love the earth before we ask them to save it."

David Sobel

Holistic Environmental Education

In a time of many global and local challenges, we are carefully and continuously refining our approach to environmental education to meet the needs of people and planet. A love of nature is at the core of everything we do, but we not only seek to instil this in our students through the curriculum, but also through the culture, campus and community. Our aim is to empower students to be engaged and proactive citizens who understand how they can make a difference, always from a place of love for the earth and compassion for self and each other.

Kivukoni Eco Festival: Celebrating Nature and Community

The Kivukoni Eco Festival after movie is here!! Enveloped by the Takaungu creek on the coast of the Indian Ocean in Kilifi, Kenya; a festival to celebrate nature, community and active hope took place on the 30th of November 2024. With a vision to enliven the regenerative movement in Kilifi, we wanted to create a inclusive and safe space where the community can come together in all its richness and diversity, to share ideas, connect with each other and most of all celebrate nature and sustainable community living. We wanted the festival to be a place where we could collaboratively grapple with some of the most progressive and urgent questions of our time, while celebrating this vibrant global movement in all its colour. Enjoy the video and please share far and wide. See our Instagram accounts for more details and behind the scenes. @kivukoniecofestival @kivukoni -- The Official School account Credits: Edited by: Max Barker Cinematography: Jack Tierney Isaiah Wekesa & Ian Anyona Song: Belesia by Ignacio Maria Gomez Festival Directors: Elsa Kent & Max Barker @elsakent_ @spiritedboy_ Thank you to our sponsors: NCBA Mawazo Institute Distant Relatives Grove and Meadow Diamond Trust Bank Green Heart of Kenya Inuka Africa Properties Seedballs Kenya Superior Homes Equity Bank Ocean Sole The LEAF With huge thanks to the Kivukoni and Kilifi communities Thank you to the Kivukoni School Directors: Lucy & Etienne Oliff #ecology #kilifi #kenya #eastafrica #festival #celebration #nature #community
